Volunteer Opportunities

A handful of volunteers, including myself,  maintain this Unemployed in Des Moines community. This group has grown tremendously over the past few years and I’d like to keep the momentum going; to do that, I need your help. Below are a list of volunteer opportunities along with their descriptions:

Blogger and Website Coordinator

Karin Dunn is an energetic program administrator and problem solver. She has a demonstrated ability to work successfully with local funding sources and fostering a spirit of collaboration. Chris Lachky is a creative, competent professional with an extensive background financial sales, management, and marketing. Chris is also active in the Des Moines music community, writing for the Des Moines Music Coalition’s website and volunteering on their promotional and marketing team, while running the social media and managing the online presence of his various musical projects. Needed:

Program Coordinator

  • Works closely with other volunteers to produce speakers/topics for our twice/month meetings at the Urbandale Public Library
  • Works closely with the Event Coordinator to communicate speaker AV needs and program information for marketing purposes
